4.11.11: Rodney "Skinny Suge" Thomas Sentenced to 12 Years for Violating Probation
April 11, 2011 -- Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Martin P. Welch today sentenced Rodney Thomas, also known as Skinny Suge, to 12 years in prison for violating the terms of his probation. Thomas, who appeared in the "Stop Snitching" video, will serve the 12 years after he completes his federal sentence of 19 years.
For a January 2007 attack on a retail clerk at Mondawmin Mall, Thomas was convicted of first-degree assault and sentenced to 15 years in prison, with all but three years suspended, followed by three years of supervised probation.
Thomas violated that probation when he was convicted in federal court of conspiracy to participate in a racketeering enterprise from 2005 until 2008. He is currently serving his 19-year sentence for this conviction.
Assistant State's Attorney Nancy Olin prosecuted the case.
